Frequently Asked Questions

Can I get adjusted while I’m pregnant?

Yes, chiropractic during pregnancy is safe, effective and comfortable at every stage. Dr. Browning has even adjusted women on their delivery day or the day before.

How do you adjust pregnant women?

We have a table that changes shape, and we put a certain pregnancy pillow up that allows a pregnant woman to lie comfortably on her stomach until the end of pregnancy. Our pregnant patients love it, as it’s the only chance they have to be on their stomach. Many are surprised by how comfortable it is for them to be adjusted.

Does it harm the baby to be adjusted?

No, there is no stress on the baby.

Do you offer the Webster Technique?

Yes, this method helps rebalance a woman’s pelvis and allows Mom to move better during delivery. The Webster Technique also helps give a baby the most room and allows the baby to get into the proper birth position.

Common Myths About Chiropractic During Pregnancy

Myth #1: Chiropractic isn’t safe during pregnancy

Truth: Chiropractic care is safe during every stage of pregnancy.

Myth #2: Chiropractors don’t work with other medical providers to co-manage a mom’s pregnancy.

Truth: Chiropractors often work with OB-GYNs, doulas and midwives. We have some OB-GYNs in towns that have sent their patients to us. Dr. Browning also had OB-GYNs as his patients. These doctors know that chiropractic is beneficial for their patients. Midwives and doulas also encourage their patients to get chiropractic care.

Myth #3. Chiropractic care just helps pregnant women’s back pain.

Truth: While chiropractic relieves low back pain, it also helps prepare her body for labor and delivery. Chiropractic keeps the nervous system functioning optimally, so a mom can experience a healthy pregnancy.
